Zomato

Introduction

Zomato is a platform that connects customers, restaurant partners and delivery partners, serving their multiple needs. Customers use Zomato to search and discover restaurants, read and write customer generated reviews, order food delivery, and make payments while dining-out at restaurants. For restaurants, Zomato provides restaurant partners with industry-specific marketing tools which enable them to engage and acquire customers to grow their business while also providing a reliable and efficient last mile delivery service.

The integration between Foodics and Zomato will allow you to

  • Sync menu from Foodics to Zomato. This includes Categories, Modifiers, Modifier Options, and Products. Combos are not supported
  • Receive orders from Zomato directly in your Foodics Cashier
  • Send order updates to Zomato automatically. For example, when you accept an order coming from Zomato, Foodics will inform Zomato that order x has been accepted

Pre Requirements to Use Zomato Integration

  • To enable this integration, you must be registered with Zomato as restaurant partner. If you are not registered with Zomato yet, please contact Zomato to prepare your restaurant for this integration

  • You need to do mapping between your Zomato restaurant id and your Foodics branches id. The way this is done is explained in the Branches Mapping section later in this guide. The important thing to note is that you will not be able to use the integration for any Foodics branch that has not been mapped with Zomato restaurant id

  • When Zomato send orders to your Foodics account, these order may have delivery fee. Delivery fee is handled in Foodics through charges. Therefore, you need to create a charge that will be used in Zomato integration.

The charge that will be used with Zomato integration must have the following details

  • The charge must be attached to all branches in Foodics
  • The charge type must be amount
  • The charge should be Open Value
  • The charge must have the order type Delivery added to it

  • The integration will sync your menu to Zomato based on a single menu group that you will create in Foodics

This will allow you to add certain products to Zomato menu through the menu group

Enabling The Integration

  1. Log in to your Foodics console at console.foodics.com/login using the owner email, If you logged in with non owner user, you will not be able to activate the integration
  2. Navigate to Marketplace page --> Search for Zomato under Online Ordering category --> Click Install
  3. You will be taken to the integration settings page

Integration Settings Page

The integration settings page is where you can do the mapping and sync between Foodics and Zomato

Branches Mapping

As explained in the pre requirements, you will need to connect with Zomato to ask them to activate Foodics POS integration and map your Zomato outlets with your Foodics outlets

For Zomato to do the mapping, they will ask you to provide them with your Foodics outlets ids

The integration allows you to export your list of Foodics outlets with their ids to provide them to Zomato

To export your Foodics outlets ids, in the integration settings page, click on your name on the top right corner. The click Export Outlets as shown in below image

Save the CSV file and share it with Zomato. Make sure the CSV file have the correct outlets name that are readable to Zomato team

Ask Zomato team to do the required mapping at their side, and they should inform you when it's done

Settings Tab

The Settings tab is where you will do the initial configuration for delivery charge and menu group

The Charge

The first box, the Charge box, is where you will do the mapping of the Foodics charge that will be used for Zomato delivery fees, if any. It's mandatory to map the charge even if you don't have delivery fees in Zomato

Click on Edit then select the applicable charge from the dropdown list then click Save

If you don't see the charge in the drop down, make sure the charge has all needed details as explained in the Pre Requirements to Use Zomato Integration section

The Delivery Charge

The second box, the Delivery Charge box, is where you can define the delivery fee amount in Zomato

Click Edit and you will see the Delivery Charge Sync view as shown below

  • Select list of branches that you want to configure delivery price for
  • Set the delivery price amount
  • Define which at which order price level the delivery charge will apply. For example, if you put 50, it means the customers will be charged with delivery fee if their order is below 50 AED
  • Defines if the delivery charge will always be active regardless of order total amount

The Menu Group

The third box, the Menu Group box, is where you can select the Foodics menu group that will be used to sync menu to Zomato

Click on Edit then select the desired menu group from the dropdown list then click Save

Status Sync Tab

This tab allows you to configure multiple statuses in Zomato

  • Pick Up Status Sync : allows you to enable/disable the pick up order service in Zomato outlets
  • Delivery Status Sync : allows you to enable/disable the delivery order service in Zomato outlets
  • Self Delivery Sync : allows you to enable/disable the self delivery option in Zomato outlets. Self delivery is when you are handling order delivery from your side, not from Zomato side

To configure any of these, click Edit --> Select list of branches that you want to configure --> Click Enable or Disable to trigger the configuration in Zomato

If you tried to configure a branch that has not been mapped yet in Zomato, you will get an error

Data Sync Tab

The Data Sync tab is where you can trigger the menu sync from Foodics to Zomato

Whenever you want to sync your Foodics menu to Zomato, you have to come to this page and do the sync

  • You have the option to Sync All branches or sync a particular branch
  • The menu sync time will differ based on your menu size in Foodics
  • If you tried to sync a branch that has not been mapped yet in Zomato, you will get an error

Important Note:

Zomato have set of requirements for menu images, the requirements are provided in the FAQ section. Please make sure you are meeting the requirements, otherwise your menu will appear with no images in Zomato app

Discounts Tab

The Discounts tab is where you will configure discounts in Zomato

To create a new discount, click Add, you will see the new discount view as shown below

Configure the discount as you wish, then click Save

The supported discount types are Percentage Discount, Fixed Amount Discount, and BOGO Discount

If you want to edit or view a previously created discount, click on it, you will be taken to that discount details page. From there you can edit the discount

If you tried to sync a discount to a branch that has not been mapped yet in Zomato, you will get an error

You can configure maximum of 5 Active discounts at the same time


FAQ:

Q1: Zomato is sending orders to my restaurant but I'm not receiving them in Foodics cashier application

A: Please check the below points

1- Sign in to your Foodics account at console.foodics.com/login, then go to Orders Page. This page will show you all API orders that are in Pending status

2- Is there any pending orders from Zomato?

If Yes:

  • Make sure you have implemented all needed steps to receive online order as explained in the Accept Online Orders Article
  • In the cashier app, click HOME --> Sync Data
  • Zomato orders should be received in the cashier

If No:

  • There is an issue either from Zomato side or Foodics side. Reach Foodics support at support@foodics.com to investigate

Q2: Combos in my Foodics menu are not getting synced to Zomato

A: The integration doesn't support syncing menu

Q3: What are the requirements for menu images in Zomato

A:

  • Dimension of the image should be limited to 1024 x 768px with a size below 5MB
  • Images should be under proper lighting and not Blur / with shadows
  • Images must not be Vertical
  • Raw food item images must not be uploaded
  • Images should not have Item Names mentioned
  • Images should not have multiple items
  • The quantity must be accurately displayed [ex - Chicken Wings [4 Pieces] - there should be only 4 pieces and not 8 pieces]
  • No Human Element should be present on the Image
  • Images with Brand Logos must not be uploaded
  • Should not duplicate the same image to multiple items
