How to use Saudi Cuisine on the Cashier
This guide will explain how to utilize Insurance items (None-Revenue Products) via Saudi Cuisine on your cashier device.
To add an insurance item to a product:
- In the Cashier App, Create an order (order types: Pick up, Delivery, Drive Thru)
- Add a product to the order, when the user selects the product and is directed to the product section. Then there will be an Insurance Tab.
- Upon clicking the Insurance Tab, the insurance products will be visible as in the image below.
- Upon adding the insurance product/plate to the product. The plate insurance products will look like a subset under the normal product in the order page.
- Users will see in the totals section, a new label Insurance Total with the amount of all insurance products in the order.
- User then has to select a customer which is mandatory to proceed with an order with insurance products in it.
- Upon adding a customer to the order, the user can then proceed to the payment section and proceed with the payment.
- The insurance products total will be considered as a deposit by the customer for the business. (not considered as sales revenue).
To apply the return of an insurance product on the cashier:
- In the orders List there will be a new tab called “Insurance”.
- The “Insurance” column will only show the orders that have non-revenue products and order status closed
- The cashier operator can search in the insurance list for orders by customer’s phone number.
- When the cashier operator selects insurance order and click on more functions will see a new function “return insurance”
- The cashier operator can return the whole order within the same business day which will return the insurance products as well subject to return order authority.
- The cashier operator (without return order authority) can return the non-revenue products/insurance products depending on the number of days that are set for returning non-revenue products in the console by the business. The cashier operator can return all or some non-revenue products depending on the end consumer.
- If the number of days exceeds the number of allowed return periods then the cashier app will show an error message “Exceeded return period“ and the cashier app will ask for manager approval.

How will Saudi Cuisine look if I use a KDS?
- Insurance products will be displayed in Kitchen (KDS or Receipt) as a subset of Normal products in the order. So that the chef can know how many plates are needed for a product to be served or packaged in.
