Smooth

Introduction

Smooth is a payment and loyalty platform serving merchants across different industries. The Smooth integration with Foodics is designed for F&B merchants, including restaurants, cafés, lounges, and similar venues. 

With Smooth, guests can scan the QR code placed on the table to:

• View the digital menu
• Review their bill
• Pay using card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay
• Split the bill and add tips
• Earn or redeem loyalty rewards and cashback

Each Foodics table is connected to a unique Smooth QR code, which can be customized with the merchant’s branding.

Enabling the Integration

Note: You must have a Smooth account before enabling this integration. If you don't have an account, contact Smooth to register

1. Log in to your Foodics console at console.foodics.com/login using the owner email. If you logged in with a non-owner user, you will not be able to activate the integration.
2. Navigate to the Marketplace page ---> Search for Smooth under the Table Payment category ---> Click Install.
3. An Authorization page appears. Foodics will ask you to authorize Smooth to access your Foodics account. Click Authorize Smooth To Access My Account to proceed.
4. Sign in using your Smooth merchant owner credentials.
5. In Foodics, create or confirm a payment method named Smooth Payment Method.
6. Contact Smooth to sync your Foodics branches and tables.
7. In the Smooth Merchant Portal, go to Tables & QR to download and print the QR code for each table.

Using the Integration

1. The cashier creates the order in Foodics, assigns it to the correct table, and keeps the check open.
2. The guest scans the Smooth QR code on the table.
3. The guest can view the menu, access the active bill, and review the bill details.
4. The guest pays through Smooth and may use available loyalty rewards or cashback.
5. The successful payment appears in the Smooth Merchant Portal.
6. The cashier confirms the payment, applies Smooth Payment Method in Foodics, and closes the order.

Important Notes

• Foodics remains the main system for the order and bill.
• Smooth reads the bill and collects the payment but does not automatically close the Foodics order.
• Payments must be recorded manually in Foodics using Smooth Payment Method.
• Keep the Foodics check open while the guest is paying.
• If the check is closed early, the guest may no longer be able to access or pay the bill through the QR code.
• Smooth collects only the remaining unpaid balance.
• Always confirm that the payment is successful in Smooth before closing the order in Foodics.
