Exporting and Updating Categories
After creating several categories, the user can carry out bulk changes to these categories instead of changing them one by one through the system. Download the list, make the changes and import the CSV file into the system. To download the file:
1. Click Menu on the side menu.
2. Click Categories.
3. Click the Import/Export.
4. Click Export Categories.
A CSV file will be downloaded to your computer containing all your categories and their details as follows:
- ID: System-related code associated with the category and should not be changed by the user.
- Name: Name of category.
- Reference: Unique code you create for each category. The reference can only contain letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores.
- Image: URL link to the representative image for the category (Click here to learn how to generate URL for the photos).
- Name_Localized: The localized name of the category in the 2nd language of your choice.
Once you fill the file, save it and upload it as follows:
1. Click the Import/Export.
2. Select Import Categories.
3. A pop-up window will open where you can upload the file.
4. Click Submit.
If missing data or errors are in the CSV file format, the system will indicate that to the user to fill the gaps or correct the errors.
After successfully uploading the file to the system and the data is validated, the system will send an email to inform the user the import process was successful.
