Creating Taxes
Taxes are calculated for each product, combo, or modifier option, and charged separately. You start by creating tax rates applicable to various items based on local laws, then group them into suitable Tax Groups. You can assign a Tax Group to individual entities and to branches as well.
1. Click Manage.
2. Click More.
3. Click Taxes & Groups.
4. Click Create Tax.
5. A pop-up window will open with the following fields:
- Name (obligatory field): Enter the name of the new tax. For example, value added tax (VAT).
- Name Localized: Enter the localized name in a 2nd language of your choice.
- Rate (obligatory field): Enter the percentage value of the tax charge. For example: 5.
- Applies On: Choose the order types the tax will take effect on products in orders under.
6. Click Save.
The screen will now be updated with the name of your new tax appearing as part of a card collection, with each card containing the tax name and the numerical value of its percentage.
After creating the tax, must create a tax group and assign the tax to the tax group (Click here to learn how to create a tax group).
