How to Set Up a Printer for First Time
Make sure to set up the printer in the correct way. Follow this guide to help you for setting up the printer:
1. Connect the ethernet cable between the printer and the router/modem.
2. Connect RJ 12 cable between the cash drawer and the printer.
3. Place the paper roll inside the printer.
4. Connect the power socket and turn on the printer.
5. Wait for a while (1-2 min) for some printers like Epson models; the IP address will mostly be printed out automatically. If not, (Click here to learn how to assign an IP address based on Printer Model).
6. Add the IP address to the devices page on the cashier app. Click Home > Click Devices > Click the (+) button > Click on Printer. After that, fill in the following (For more details click here):
- Model: Choose the model of your printer from the supported models.
- Type: Choose Cashier.
- Name: Enter the name of the printer. (e.g., Cashier Printer).
- IP Address: Enter the printer's IP Address (e.g., 192.168.8.50) that you got from step number 4.
- Number of Copies: Enter the number of copies to be printed for each order.
7. To check if the printer is connected successfully, click Ping. Make sure the printer is responding (online - A piece of paper will be printed).
