Troubleshooting Guidance For Printers
If you face disconnection between the cashier app and the printer, refer to the following guidelines to restore the connection:
1. Ensure the added IP address in the devices page of the Cashier App (Cashier > Home > Devices) matches the printer IP (Click here to learn how to get the IP address based on the printer model).
2. Ensure that the printer and cashier app are connected to the same network.
3. Ensure the printer is switched on and connected to a power supply.
4. Ensure the ethernet cable is connected properly to the router and printer. Remove and reconnect the cable from both ends.
5. Ensure the option local network is active for the cashier app (Click here to learn how to activate the local network option).
6. For Epson Printers, when the link status is unknown or disconnected when printing the printer information paper. Try to remove and reconnect the cable from both ends (Router and printer). If the issue still exists, change the Ethernet cable and use an alternative cable.
7. Open Safari browser on the iPad and enter the IP address of the printer. If a printer page information appears and the issue is still there, do the following:
- Reset the network: (iPad device settings – general – scroll down and click on reset – reset network settings – restart the router – set up the connection again).
- If not resolved, the devices might be connected to different networks; try connecting both devices to another network/router if available and set up the devices again.
However, if printer page information does not appear in the browser, that means the printer and the iPad are not connected to the same network. Ensure both are connected to the same network and try to apply the above reset network settings.
8. Change the IP address from Automatic to manual (Click here to learn how to change the IP address from Automatic to static mode based on the printer model).
9. If the restaurant operating area is large, make sure an access point is available to reach areas with low or unstable internet connections. A switch hub is advisable if landlines and security cameras are available in the restaurant.
