Drawer Operations
Drawer operations are used when the user needs to deposit/withdraw cash from the drawer. Or when the user wants to open the drawer for any defined reason.
There are four types of drawer operations:
- Pay In: Is used for depositing money to the drawer for any reason other than sales.
- Pay Out: This is used when withdrawing money from the drawer in order to purchase something an example will be paying off a vendor.
- Cash Drop: This is used to withdraw cash from the drawer for example when it is full.
- Open Drawer: It is used to open the cash drawer for any reason other than adding payments from sales or returning money to customers.
How to Open Drawer:
1. Click Home.
2. Click Drawer Operations.
3. Click Open Drawer.
4. Choose the reason (Click here to learn how to create reasons).
5. The cash drawer should open. If an error message appears and the drawer did not open, make sure the printer is connected successfully with the cashier (Click here to learn about printer troubleshooting guidance). Also, make sure the CAT 6 cable is connected properly between the cashier app and the cash drawer.
How to Pay Out:
1. Click Home.
2. Click Drawer Operations.
3. Click "+".
4. Click Type.
5. Choose Pay Out.
6. Click Amount.
7. Enter the amount and click done.
8. Click reason.
9. Choose the related reason (Click here to learn how to create reasons).
10. Add a note if needed and click save.
The transaction will reflect on the till summary report and the cashier should take pay out under consideration when closing the till to avoid any cash shortage (Click here for more details) and will reflect on console reports too (Click here for more details).
With the same concept, you can use pay in and cash drop drawer operations.
