Shortage and Surplus and Tills Summary Report
When analyzing the Till Summary, there are three possible scenarios:
1. A Cash surplus: when the entered amount exceeds the estimated cash in the register.
In the below example, the Open till is 1000 SAR while the cash net payment is 118 SAR and 57 SAR for Mada Card.
The till closed with an amount of 1146 SAR and the estimated cash is 1118 SAR.
Therefore, there is a surplus amount of 28 SAR (1146 - 1118).
2. A Cash Shortage: is when the entered amount is less than the estimated cash in the register.
In the below example, the Open till is 1000 SAR while the cash net payment is 145 SAR and 26 SAR for Mada Card.
The till closed with an amount of 1130 SAR and the estimated cash is 1145 SAR.
Therefore, there is a shortage amount of 15 SAR (1130 - 1145 ).
3. No Shortage and No Surplus: When the amount of cash matches the estimated cash in the register.
In the below example, the Open till is 1000 SAR while the cash net payment is 122 SAR and 64 SAR for Mada Card.
The till closed with an amount of 1122 SAR and the estimated cash is 1122 SAR too.
