Creating Categories
Products need to be organized into categories in order to differentiate their type, and characteristics. Each product can belong to only one category.
Important Note Before You Start
Before proceeding with any steps related to products or categories, please ensure that your user account has the required permissions in the Console.
If the Categories Field Is Not Visible
If the Categories field does not appear while managing products, this is usually due to missing permissions on the user account, especially if the user is not the account owner.
How to Check Permissions
To verify your permissions, please follow these steps:
Go to Manage
Select Roles
Choose the role assigned to your user account
If the Roles page is not visible, please contact the account owner to update your user permissions.
Required Permissions
Make sure the following permissions are enabled:
Read Menu
Manage Menu
Once these permissions are enabled, the Categories options will appear, and you will be able to manage products normally through the Console.
In order to add a new Category, please follow the below steps:
1. Click Menu.
2. Click Menu Builder
3. Click Categories.
4. Click Create Category.
A pop-up window will open, and fill in the name of your category.
4. Fill in the reference.
5. Click Save.
The screen will now be updated with the name of the new category.
