Creating Products

A product is what you will be offering to customers through Foodics app. It can be either food, product, or service.

Note: it is mandatory to create the related category before adding the product (Click here if you have not created a category yet).

Important Note Before You Start

Before proceeding with any steps related to products or categories, please ensure that your user account has the required permissions in the Console.

If the Categories Field Is Not Visible

If the Products field does not appear while managing products, this is usually due to missing permissions on the user account, especially if the user is not the account owner.

How to Check Permissions

To verify your permissions, please follow these steps:

1. Go to Manage

2. Select Roles

3. Choose the role assigned to your user account

If the Roles page is not visible, please contact the account owner to update your user permissions.

Required Permissions

Make sure the following permissions are enabled:

• Read Menu

• Manage Menu

Once these permissions are enabled, the Products options will appear, and you will be able to manage products normally through the Console.

In order to create a new Product, please follow the below steps:

1. Click Menu.

2. Click Menu Builder.

3. Click Products.

4. Click Create Product.

5. A pop-up window will open, and mandatory fields will be marked with a red star ( ) next to the name of the field.

• Name (obligatory field): Enter the name of the product.
• Category (obligatory field): Select the category to which this product should belong (Click here if you still need to create a category).
• Stock Product (obligatory field): Choose yes if the product is to be sold retail (You can not change the type after creating the product).
• SKU (obligatory field): Write a unique code for the product, you can also click Generate to get a random one.
• Pricing Method (obligatory field): Decide if this product can be priced on the fly by the cashier (Open Price) or should have a fixed price (Fixed Price).
• Price (obligatory field): If you selected the fixed price method, enter the price here.
• Tax Group: Select the tax group to which this product should belong (Click here if you still have not defined the tax).
• Costing Method: Select whether you prefer the cost of this product to be calculated automatically. based on the cost of its ingredients or you want to assign a fixed cost for it.
• Selling Method: Select whether this product is sold as a unit or by weight.
• Name Localized: Enter the localized name in a 2^ndlanguage of your choice.

6. Click Save.
 

The screen will now be updated with the name of your new product.
